Manifesto for Art, Technology & Consciousness
Francesca Dasso 2025
The Origin
- Reality as Embodied Mystery: Existence is not a logical puzzle for the analytical mind to solve or control, but a sacred mystery to be inhabited, felt, and rested in through the body.
- Wonder at the Center: Cultivating our capacity for aw as an innate faculty which is often withered by traditional education. Awe is an essential condition for healing our relationship with reality.
- The Wholeness of Being and Unity: Understanding the human being not as an incomplete fragment, but as a conscious totality. Introspection serves as the doorway to recognizing that individual experience and universal consciousness are one and the same.
- Aesthetic Experience as Knowledge: Intuition and sensory experience are not mere embellishments; they are direct modes of knowing aspects of reality that pure intellect cannot reach.
Scales
- Physical Space as an Ordering Principle: Reality is not divided by academic disciplines, but organized by spatial scales: from interiority and biology, through human and daily life, to territorial and cosmic structures.
- The Illusion of Individuality: Hyper-individualism blinds us to our fundamental condition: we are deeply interdependent nodes within living, complex systems.
- The Feminine Lens as Epistemic Expansion: Integrating the feminine perspective into Western thought expands and balances our foundation, redefining how we inhabit the world.
- Cycles Over Linear Progress: Moving beyond the obsession with linear acceleration allows us to honor time's cyclical nature and learn from the past to inhabit the present as we build the future.
Sensibility
- The Frequential & Energy Age: Moving past the rigid "seeing is believing" paradigm, contemporary science now validates what mystical traditions long knew about vibration and energy.
- The Future is Sonic (Nada Brahma): As mass imagery becomes saturated, sound emerges as a space for deep immersion. Recognizing the importance of sound calls for a renewed ethics around acoustic pollution, urban landscape and wildlife protecion.
- Embodied Intelligence vs. Neural Networks: AI mimics brain logic, but intelligence encompasses much more: the body, intuition as well as animal and plants. We must expand beyond homocentrism to respect and learn from the the perceptive capacities of all species.
- Technological Immersion & The Cosmic Egg: Enveloping digital environments tap into an archetypal longing: returning to the womb of wholeness and origin.
Geographies of Thought
- The Global South & The Unfinished Universe: The spontaneity of Latin America resists hyper-programming, keeping alive an "unfinished" world where imagination and hope thrive.
- Counter-Narratives of Hope: We dismantle media-driven dystopias by reclaiming community cosmologies and alternative futures to guide our present choices.
- Technology as an Ontological Mirror: Digital tools reflect our collective values, shadows, and economic incentives; they are never neutral, but mirrors of our underlying epistemology.
Artistic Practice
- Unboxing Art into Complex Systems: Releasing art from the "white cube" turns it into a rigorous, sensitive methodology for mapping systemic relationships.
- The Artist as Catalyst: The artist acts as a living bridge between daily life, structural systems, and the transcendent dimension of human experience.
- Art as Bridge and Practice: Creative practice is not an isolated aesthetic output, but the integrative thread connecting micro-experience to macro-structures in a shared sense of meaning.
